Music in the Mountains returns to Nestldown! Hidden in the redwoods on acres of lushly landscaped property, this exquisite private retreat located in the Santa Cruz Mountains provides an unparalleled setting. Perfect pairings of food and wine by premier restaurateurs and vintners will take place on verdant lawns amidst lush gardens beside a koi pond. Guests are invited to explore the picturesque grounds, replete with gorgeous views, waterfalls, a redwood Chapel, foxglove meadow, and a Fantasy Garden and Cottage. This year the mix of pleasures will include a new Benefit Drawing featuring irresistible prizes. This five-star, enchanted experience culminates with an unforgettable chamber music concert in the cathedral-ceiling wood hall that adjoins the garden. This year guest artists join Concertmaster Justin Bruns and members of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra for an intimate and exceptional music offering. The program includes Johannes Moser performing Benjamin Britten and Witold Lutoslawski’s Sacher Variations for solo cello; Emil Jonason performing his own piece for solo clarinet The Lucinda Variations (from a song by Tom Waits); as well as the Britten Phantasy Quartet for Oboe and Strings, and more. Another unforgettable night awaits.
