Pre-Rehearsal Talks
Wed: August 2 6:45-7:15pm Phyllis Rosenblum, music columnist for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, on Time Machine
Wed: August 9 6:45-7:15pm Phillip Collins, artistic director fo the New Music Works, composer, conductor, and a popular guest lecturer at regional colleges, on Elevation
Sometimes the smallest details about a piece of music or its composer
give you that "lightbulb over the head" feeling, or spark your interest
deeply. In 2006 the Festival will again offer free talks by lecturerers
who bring their love and knowledge of the music to informal sessions
preceding Open Rehearsals at the Civic Auditorium, and their enthusiasm about music will kindle your own.
