"You can buy a CD, go to a fancy concert hall and hear something once, but it won't compare to the Cabrillo Festival. It's music camp for the whole town…" — fan Julie Zuckerman of New York City

Open Rehearsals
Marin says that Festival goers "treat music as a participatory sport." You truly have the chance to see the music come to life—as the community of Marin, musicians, and composers sculpt their pieces for performance.

Pre-Rehearsal Talks
Sometimes the smallest details about a piece of music or its composer give you that "lightbulb over the head" feeling, or spark your interest deeply. These speakers bring their love and knowledge of the music to informal sessions preceding Open Rehearsals at the Civic Auditorium, and their enthusiasm about music will kindle your own.

Wed: August 4:
6:45-7:15pm Phyllis Rosenblum, columnist for the SC Sentinel, on "Vespertine."

Wed: August 11:
6:45-7:15pm Philip Collins, artistic director of New Music Works, on "The Dharma at Big Sur."
