An honors graduate from the Dana School of Music in 1980, Smith currently composes music for the television shows Star Trek: Voyager and previously worked on the music team for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. A versatile composer, he has written themes ranging from cable shows to cartoons, and has enjoyed a long association with the Walt Disney Company, including music for theme-park shows and feature films. A frequent visitor to the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music, Smith's previous compositions include A Major, minor Mystery, Mr. Smith's Composition, The Orchestra Games and Zoo Song.
