Pianist Christopher O'Riley performs Radiohead song transcriptions.

Radiohead Transcribed. Christopher O’Riley is an artist whose poetic gifts and captivating virtuosity have made him one of the most important and versatile pianists performing today. He enjoys a thriving concert career and is famous for his interpretations of Stravinsky and French Baroque repertoire, as well as for hosting the popular public radio show "From the Top." O’Riley has just recorded a new album, "True Love Waits," which features original transcriptions for solo piano of songs by the British progressive-rock phenomenon Radiohead, to be released by Sony Music this June. On Friday night, August 8th the Cabrillo Festival presents O’Riley for the West Coast Premiere recital. Last year’s sold-out New York concert of this material inspired The New York Sun to write: "O’Riley has made a statement about what constitutes good serious music... [His] transcriptions proved that Radiohead can be as unfailingly moving for true compositional reasons as any working classical composer…that a pianist with so much power, skill, touch and poetry in his fingers decided to expose what besides Stravinsky and Ravel really moves him (and that it was such great music) was a double-barreled lesson for us all."
