wesley rogers, tenor Welsey Rogers received his undergraduate degree in music from the University of Mississippi. In 1999, he completed his Master of Music degree at the University of Washington under the guidance of professor Julian Patrick. As a student, he performed many roles including Tamino in Die Zauberflote, Orpheus in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld, Sam in Weill's Street Scene, the Chevalier in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites, and the professor and frog in Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortileges. Rogers was a scholarship recipient as well as a NATS winner. He made his Seattle Opera debut in 2001 as Maintop in Britten's Billy Budd, and returned in 2002 as the Fourth Jew in Strauss' Salome. In May, he sang in the Pacific Northwest Ballet's premiere of Weill's Seven Deadly Sins. He has performed roles with companies including Opera Memphis, Washington East Opera, Obsidian Opera, the Lake Chelan Bach Festival, and Seattle Community Outreach Productions. As a concert soloist he has appeared with the Meridian Symphony, the Seattle Choral Company, The Cascadian Chorale, and The Bremerton Symphony.
