“The orchestra unleashed bristling performances of contemporary music....The Cabrillo Festival has shown how to build a sustaining community around progressive music.”

--Wall Street Journal

Pre-Concert Talks
Sometimes the smallest details about a piece of music or its composer give you that "lightbulb over the head" feeling, or spark your interest deeply. These three speakers bring their love and knowledge of CMF's music to informal sessions preceding Open Rehearsals at the Civic Auditorium, and their enthusiasm about music will kindle your own.

Miriam Ellis on “Little Women”

August 6

Phyllis Rosenblum on “Music at the Mission”
