"evelyn at the civic"

“Glennie doesn't simply play the music, she becomes the music, transmitting it to the audience like some sort of feral nature priestess.”

--Daytona Daily News

Saturday, August 10
8:00pm "Evelyn at the Civic" Orchestra Concert
(Tickets: $34-$25)
Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium

Featuring Scottish percussionist Evelyn Glennie and the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, conducted by Marin Alsop.

The New York Times has called Grammy Award winner Evelyn Glennie "the percussion world's Segovia or Rampal." The Scottish phenomenon has commissioned more works for solo percussion and orchestra than any other percussionist in history. Glennie commands the attention of audiences and critics across the globe and makes her debut appearances this anniversary season at the Festival. She performs Michael Daugherty’s U.F.O. Daugherty joins us for the performance. The program includes Steve Reich’s The Four Sections.
