Concerts:
Music at the Millpond

A Benefit Concert
Friday, August 10, 2001
6 p.m.
Edged with oaks and spreading sycamores and mirrored reflections of tree and sky, the Millpond is the perfect setting to enjoy the exceptional talents of some of the area's best chefs and winemakers and savor a musical finale to a summer's day.
Against a backdrop of forested hills and a huge dome of blue sky, a cathedral of redwood trees stands awaiting your arrival at the Millpond. Join our hosts, Annie and Marlin Clegg, as Cabrillo Music Festival brings its annual Benefit Concert back to this magnificent setting for Festival patrons to discover, marvel and enjoy.
Sip wine, sample delicacies and stroll the verdant lawns for an unforgettable evening. Local chefs from Bittersweet Bistro, Bleu Spoon, Café Cruz, Casablanca, Clouds, Gabriella Café, Oswalds, Ristorante Avanti, and Theo's marry their craft to wines from Ahlgren Vineyard, Bonny Doon Vineyard, David Bruce Winery, Exuinox Champagne, River Run Vintners, Roudon Smith Winery, Salamandre Wine Cellars, Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyards, Storrs Winery and Zayante Vineyards.
After your palate is sated and the sun dips toward the horizon, members of the Festival Orchestra create a twilight fantasy, led by gifted concertmaster Yumi Hwang-Williams. Centered in a fairy ring of redwoods, they'll perform works by Haydn and Brahms so close, you will hear them breathe.
Tickets: $85
Attendance is limited. Priority is given to Full Subscribers on a date-received basis.
