Stage  Smith A favorite with the youngest generation of Festival-goers, composer Gregory Smith returns with his fun and hilarious Mr. Smith's Composition. Marin has also invited guest percussionist Colin Currie (a 23-year-old 'boy wonder' from Scotland) to join her and the Festival Orchestra to demonstrate some of the spectacular drumming in Christopher Rouse's percussion concerto. Currie's amazing array of instruments includes a rock and roll drum set, steel drums, timbales, bongos, tom-toms, marimba, and more! Be sure to get tickets early, they always go fast. | ||||
Before and after the Free Family Concert, don't miss performances on the outdoor Church Street Stage by students from the Santa Cruz Ballet Theatre, the Petite Performance Company; and the hi-hop dancers from Motion Pacific's "Boom Squad."
